Bank and Budgeting

French Bank Account

Opening a French bank account is highly recommended. It is often required to have a French bank account or an account in euros at a bank established in the European Economic Area (SEPA Zone, Single Euro Payments Area) to pay your rent and utility bills, or even to add money to your Izly account to be able to eat in the Crous University Canteens. If you have to spend money at Cnam-Enjmin (as part of the master's degree projects, for example), the refund payment can only be made to a French account.

You will need the following documents when opening a bank account:

  • Proof of ID (Passport, residence card, etc.)
  • Proof of address
  • Enrolment certificate (certificat de scolarité) or student card

Note: For students on the International master's degree programme, a "Partners Forum" will be organised at the beginning of each academic year to help you meet Cnam-Enjmin's local partners.
