France 2030

In October 2021, the French President unveiled the big investment plan for the future, France 2030, along with 54 billion euros to make France a future leader in all strategic domains related to economy.

As part of this budget, France 2030 is devoting 1 billion euros to culture, in order to affirm France's technological and cultural sovereignty in a national and European context.

The call for projects entitled La Grande fabrique de l’image, which is part of the France 2030 programme and has a budget of 350 million euros, seeks to support the lifeblood of the sector to break through a scaling change in aid of French creation, and make France a leader in the fields of film shooting, film, series and video game production, and post-production (in particular special effects), as well as in training courses for the different professions in the cinema and audiovisual sector.

* Video games are at the top of the Cultural and Creative Industries *

The French video game market has been growing by 4 % on average per year since 2017, the same speed as the global market which was worth 170 billion euros in 2022.
With a turnover of 5.5 billion euros in 2022, video games have now become the number one creative and innovative cultural industry in France. The sector produces over 1,200 new video games every year in France.

Also keep in mind the fact that in 2022, 7 out of 10 French people play video games at least occasionally.
