Grants for International Mobility
Are you a Cnam-Enjmin student looking to study abroad? Whether it's for your studies abroad or an international internship, you may be eligible for grants to finance your mobility. This page describes Erasmus+ and AMI grants, and the steps you need to take to qualify.
Please note that if you are a Crous grant holder, the following grants can be added to your monthly grant payment.
Erasmus+ Grant
1. General Overview
Support for Erasmus+ mobility concerns students enrolled at Cnam who wish to:
-
Go abroad and study in a partner establishment (Mobility for Studies). The study programme must be recognised by the sending and receiving institutions thanks to a Learning Agreement, to enable the obtainment of ECTS credits.
-
Complete a traineeship in a company (Mobility for Traineeships)
The Erasmus+ grant is not intended to cover all mobility-related expenses. It may be supplemented by other funding (grants based on social criteria, AMI grants...).
2. Destinations
The mobility must take place in one of the countries which participates in the Erasmus+ programme:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Türkiye.
Within certain limits, mobility to third countries not associated with the Erasmus+ programme is possible. They are divided into several groups, which are presented on the European Commission website. For all international mobility projects, we recommend that you contact Cnam-Enjmin's International Relations Service.
3. Length of Stay
Long Mobility: The length of stay in the receiving country must be between 2 months (or 60 days including weekends) and 12 months (or 360 days).
Short Hybrid Mobility: The length of stay in the host country must be between 2 days and 30 days for mobilities in the EU and between 5 days and 30 days for mobilities outside of the EU.
4. Grant Amount
Depending on credit availability, the student may be a recipient, partial recipient, or non-recipient of the grant. The student will be notified once their application has been examined.
The amount of Erasmus+ grants depends on the type of activity, duration, cost of living in the destination country, distance between home and destination countries, number of students applying for the grant and availability of other grants.
The maximum duration of a mobility is 12 months per study cycle (BTS, Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, etc.). This period may include a combination of study and work experience, provided that the total duration does not exceed the authorised limit.
The Erasmus+ Mobility for Studies grant is made up of two fixed parts for all eligible students: the contribution to living expenses and the contribution to travel expenses. Supplements are possible under certain conditions.
The amounts shown below are subject to change and are given for information purposes only.

This amount is calculated according to the distance between the place of departure and the place of mobility (see the Distance Calculator Tool by the European Commission).

A supplement is provided for people who use a low-emission means of transport (train, bus, carpooling, etc.) for the majority of their outward and return journeys. Proof must be provided with the application (tickets or invoices showing the names, dates and places of departure and return).

5. Payment of the Grant
Payment is made in 2 stages:
-
A deposit of 70% of the Erasmus+ grant. This first payment is made at the start of the mobility period once the financial file has been validated by the Cnam.
-
Balance of the remaining 30%. This second payment is made on return to France once the required documents have been sent and validated.
AMI Grant
International Mobility Grant for Crous grant holders
Students who receive a grant based on social criteria or an annual allowance (specific aid scheme) may be eligible for aid in addition to the Erasmus+ grant.
It is not possible to accumulate more than 10 months of international mobility aid over the course of your higher educational studies.
To receive the AMI grant, applicants must include proof of their status as a Crous grant holder for the intended academic year in their application for a mobility grant. They must then submit a Certificate of Attendance on arrival in the receiving country (see model below).
Students receive €800 regardless of the length of their mobility (minimum 2-month mobility, monthly amount of €400, limited to 2 monthly payments). Payment is made in one instalment at the start of the placement on receipt of the Certificate of Attendance.
How to apply for mobility grants
Before you leave
1. Find out information about the destination
Before you leave, it is important to find out about your receiving country and city. Remember to draw up a provisional budget to avoid unpleasant surprises.
To get a clearer idea, we encourage you to complete the following table (Provisional Budget for Mobility). You can use the website of your partner university, the website of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs or talk to students who have already been on a mobility.
IMPORTANT: The grant is financial aid for mobility. It will not enable you to finance all your expenses. It is therefore essential to find out about the cost of living before you leave.
In addition, the grant is paid in two instalments. The first payment, which corresponds to 70% of the Erasmus+ grant, will be made at the start of your mobility once your financial file has been validated by the Cnam. The second payment will be made on your return (balance of the remaining 30%) once all the required documents have been submitted.
2. Contact Cnam-Enjmin's International Relations Service
Contact: Fantine Amiel
First, you will be asked to fill in a table (Grant Simulation) to complete a grant simulation. The amount that you may be awarded based on the information provided in the table will be communicated to you as soon as we receive it.
This table should be completed as soon as possible using all available information.
3. Complete your Grant Application
The Mobility Coordinator at Cnam-Enjmin is responsible for liaising with the DAEI (Direction des affaires européennes et internationales) at Cnam, which is in charge of managing grant applications.
