1st French Competition for Independent Video Games

Hello TokoToko comes 2nd place at 2020 Game Cup!

Kalank was founded in 2017 by graduates of the Master's degree in Video Games and Digital Interactive Media at Cnam-Enjmin and is one of the 3 studios currently part of the school's incubation programme.

Hello TokoToko, a game created by the studio Kalank, came 2nd place in the 2020 Game Cup, in the Newbie category (category for individual or teams of creators from studios that have been around for less than 3 years):

  • €7,000 financial contribution to their KissKissBankBank campaign, as well as tailor-made support from a video game specialist to help them successfully raise funds 
  • Media plan gifted by Jeux Vidéo Magazine worth €30,000
  • Communication support from the eight partner clusters, including SNJV (Syndicat national du jeu vidéo, or in English, National Video Game Union) and the AFJV (Agence française du jeu vidéo, or in English, French Video Game Agency)

The 2020 Game Cup is the first French competition for independent video game organised in partnership with KissKissBankBank, La Banque Postale, Jeux Vidéo Magazine, Pôle Image Magelis, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and Cnam-Enjmin.
The Grand Final took place at the school on 15th October 2020.

A panel of experts selected 8 finalists from the 100 projects submitted: Jehanne Rousseau (Spiders studio, Lyon), David Elahee (Headbang Club studio, Angoulême), Florent Maurin (Pixel Hunt studio, Paris), Miryam Houali (Accidental Queens studio, Lille), Jean-Samuel Kriegk (KissKissBankBank, Lyon), Thomas Salviejo (La Banque Postale, Paris), Jean-François Morisse (Jeux Vidéo Magazine, Paris).

And the winners were chosen by the public!
