Mishka de Caro from Argentina will be leading a masterclass in English and in person on the theme of ‘Latam Game Dev Communities: claim, build, belong’.

Mishka De Caro bio
Ludologist and studious of the philosophy of games, with over ten years of experience as a Game Designer, Producer and Teacher. Began their career working as a journalist and training in new media, transmedia storytelling and narrative design for video games. Has gone through every version of the Industry, was a Journalist for Coliseo Web a news website focused on esports and subculture, was the general producer of the Video Game Music Orchestra in Symphonic Version Corear. Is the current president of Fundav and works as a teacher in private and public universities, as well as coordinating content for the video game development program in prisons, in 2024 was part of the Theme committee for the Global Game Jam.

In two hours, we’ll go through the means and tools that the Latam Game Dev Communities have used to adapt to the evolving needs of the industry, to conquer spaces without budget or access to tech, and how they’ve created a sense of belonging throughout the years. We'll explore the dynamic interplay between community engagement and innovation in game design, highlighting prominent developers and studios across Latin America, as well as their ideas and methodologies.
