Student life
A town with a rich cultural life where it’s pleasant to live
Angoulême is known as the ‘balcony onto South West France’. This medium-sized town (with a population of 110,000 inhabitants, suburbs included) offers a very pleasant quality of life. People appreciate its cultural diversity and dynamism, the reasonable price of housing and mild climate. The town lives to the beat of its many festivals (International Comics Festival, French Language Film Festival, Musiques Métisses: Festival of world music…).
It has numerous cultural facilities: the International Centre for Comics and Images, the National Comics Museum, Angoulême Theatre, a concert venue, La Nef, the Conservatory for Music, Dance and Theatre, the Regional Fund for Contemporary Art and is home to a multitude of creative talents. Employees of creative media companies, multimedia artists, comic strip authors, writers collectives and students from the seven schools that comprise the Image Campus live and work together in an environment which is conducive to creativity, exchange, research and innovation.

A Campus de l'Image association
The image students' association, CIA (Campus Image Angoulême), was set up in September 2008.
Under the impetus of the Pôle Image Magelis, students from image-related schools (ATELIER, ÉESI, EMCA, Cnam-Enjmin, CEPE, CREADOC, IUT, LISA, etc.) laid the foundations of an association under the 1901 law for the 1,800 image-related students in Angoulême. The aim of this association is to encourage exchanges between students from the various schools in the Pôle Image.
Our students can also get involved or take part in the events of the various clubs of the image students' association: the choir, theatre, kung fu, etc.
