Telephone and Internet

Mobile Phone

Before coming to France, check whether your home country's mobile phone package allows you to use your phone abroad (for calls, texts and cellular data) without additional costs. If this is not the case, do not forget to deactivate the "Data abroad" option in your phone's settings.

When you arrive in France, you can set up a mobile phone contract with a French provider in order to get a SIM card and a French number. Look for contracts that say sans engagement (“without obligation”) - you can end this type of contract at any time without having to pay any fees, such as when you leave. Allow between €5 and €15 per month depending on the package.

You can also choose an eSIM of your phone is compatible (check in your phone's settings).

Note: For students on the International Master's degree programme, a "Partners Forum" will be organised at the beginning of each academic year to help you meet Cnam-Enjmin's local partners.

Wifi

If your accommodation or student residence does not have a Wifi connection, contact a French provider to sign up to a contract and receive a Wifi hub box. Look for contracts that say sans engagement (“without obligation”) - you can end this type of contract at any time without having to pay any fees, such as when you leave. Allow around €30 per month for a fibre connection.

At Cnam-Enjmin, you can connect to the "Cnam-Formation" Wifi network by using the same log-in details for your ENF (Espace Numérique de Formation) account.

In Angoulême, Wifi hotspots are available in certain cafés, at the Alpha Library and in the student coworking space, CIJ (Centre Information Jeunesse).
