Cnam-Enjmin welcomes the 'New Creation Space'
January 30, 2025February 2, 2025
Every year, Cnam-Enjmin, partner of the Angoulême International Comics Festival, hosts the 'New Creation Space'.
Renamed for the 51st edition of the festival, the 'New Creation Space' is THE place to be for young authors, publishers and art & design professionals. Access is free for the entire duration of the event.
Its true vocation is to showcase, both for research and experimentation purposes, new comic book authors in France, Europe or Internationally. This year, the space will host the group exhibition "Hyper BD: an exhibition where you are the heroes". Opening up the frontiers of creation to festival-goers, it will explore the diverse paths taken by young artists on the road to publishing. The journey will take the form of a playful, yet instructive quest, guided by the diverse works and universes of four authors: Émilie Plateau (who signed the general narrative of the exhibition), Adrian Tomine, Salomé Lahoche and Bingo. The space is also designed to encourage valuable exchanges between representatives of young artists and the professional image world.
THE SCHOOLS
Just like every year, the specialised schools offer a glimpse into student work, organise numerous workshops and provide guidance to those interested in pursuing their careers in the field.
MEET PUBLISHERS
This is a unique opportunity to meet publishers, present books to them and benefit from their advice. Online registration for these events is available on the festival website in December.
CONFERENCES & WORKSHOPS
The festival organises a series of conferences open to everyone, as well as subject-specific workshops in collaboration with the Magelis Image Campus schools in Angoulême. The 'New Creation' space will also offer a reading corner where you can flick through the publications of our young talents. A special programme of meetings will be on offer to festival-goers in partnership with adaBD (Association des Auteurs de Bande Dessinée).
