The French National School of Video Games and Digital Interative Media, part of the Cnam network and known as Cnam-Enjmin, joins the twenty or so "application schools" (écoles d'application) of the French Polytechnical School (École polytechnique), also known as "X". An "application school" is a receiving institution of Polytechnical students. At Cnam-Enjmin, these students will be able to specialise in the field of digital interactive media, bringing knowledge of video games (both as a leisure activity and practical tool) to other fields, such as defence or health.

For Polytechnical students, the 4th year of studies is all about specialisation. The aim of this partnership is to make it easier for students on the Polytechnician Engineering course to complete their final year at Cnam-Enjmin, therefore meaning they graduate from both schools.

This partnership formalises the links built between X and Cnam-Enjmin, fuelled by the work of the Science and Video Games Chair, created in January 2019 at the École polytechnique by Raphaël Granier de Cassagnac. Including an application school from the video game world meets one of the objectives of the Chair which was set when it was created with its sponsor Ubisoft.

This collaboration also responds to the students' desire to enter the video games industry. Two students have already taken advantage of the agreement in principle between the two schools and are currently completing their 4th year at Cnam-Enjmin. Two others, including one woman, will be joining the school at the start of the new academic year. Cnam-Enjmin is currently jointly supervising a thesis with the Chair on the theme of learning through the creation of video games in a school context.
