At Cnam-Enjmin, our micro-credentials help you gain specialised skills and valuable knowledge in the field of digital creation. They usually take place over a period of 5-10 days and are delivered in person at our Nil Building in Angoulême.

Sound Design for Interactive Medias: A Micro-credential for future Sound Designers
It is essential for sound professionals to be trained in object-oriented mixing and to understand the problems of real-time sound spatialisation. This is because these practices are used in the industry with virtual or augmented reality simulators, in architecture with virtual tours, in museography with 3D reconstructions and in many other sectors. The possibilities are truly endless.
Understanding the challenges, issues and perspectives of interactivity opens up new horizons for future sound professionals.

This micro-credential took place over the course of 10 days with a total of 80 hours. It ran from 2017 to 2020.
Who for?
This course is aimed at sound engineers, sound designers and composers wishing to acquire new knowledge and skills.
Skills required:
- Skills in linear sound or music creation and practical experience of digital tools
- Theoretical knowledge and advanced practical experience of digital audio, and experience of audiovisual production
How to validate the training course
Present your personal/professional project.
Validation leads to obtaining a Cnam Specialisation Certificate.
Course Content
Week 1
- Writing, production and economics of a video game
- Music and SD production pipeline in video games
- Legal aspects of a video game: copyright, moral rights, exploitation rights
- Sound architecture and engines for video games
- Implementing sound design in a video game engine
- Interactive sound design using the functionalities of game and audio engines (Unity and Wwise or Fmod)
- Analysis of sound and musical interaction in a video game
- Games with a predominance of music and sound
Week 2
- Dynamic music
- Implementing dynamic music in an audio engine (Wwise)
- Sound and musical interaction in Wwise
New skills to develop
At the end of this short course, you will be able to:
- Analyse the sound charter for a piece of interactive media
- Understand all the stages in the production of interactive media and the relationship between the various professionals involved
- Use basic interactive sound production tools
- Understand how interactive sound is written
- Produce your first interactive soundtrack
Practical Teaching Methods
Each theme covered in the course is put into practice through group work, culminating in a personal professional project, which acts as the common thread running throughout the course.
