Note: The master’s degree is referred to as "Master JMIN" or "JMIN Master's degree" in Cnam-Enjmin's communication. "JMIN" is the acronym of the programme's name in French: Jeux et médias interactifs numériques.

Specialisations that reflect the industry

Students choose from one of the following 6 tracks during the admission procedure. They all correspond to professions in the gaming industry.

There is a Common Core of classes offered during Semester 1 which allows students to gain a solid understanding of the other tracks. Candidates choose the track they wish to major in during the application process and entry exams.

A diploma which prepares students for all video game professions

The Master's degree in Video Games and Digital Interactive Media (JMIN) is jointly accredited by Cnam and the University of Poitiers. 

All students who successfully complete the master's degree will obtain a diploma certificate co-signed by the presidents of both institutions. However, Cnam-Enjmin is the sole point of admission for all students.

There are two dual-degree programmes offered to students:

  • Partnership with Cologne Game Lab (TH Köln) (Cologne - Allemagne), dual-degree programme with the JMIN Master's degree / M.A. in Digital Games, open to all tracks of the JMIN Master's degree (mobility during the 3rd semester of the master's degree)
  • Partnership with NAD-UQAC School (Montreal - Canada), dual-degree programme with the JMIN Master's degree / DESS diploma in Narrative Video Game Design (DESS en design de jeu vidéo narratif), open to the Game Design and Game Art tracks of the JMIN Master's degree (mobility during the 2nd year of the master's degree)

Our strengths

Our JMIN Master's degree is a two-year master’s degree designed to train high-level artists, designers and academic researchers in the fields of video games and digital interactive media.

The programme, which is delivered at Cnam-Enjmin in Angoulême, combines French-taught (1st year) and English-taught (2nd year, 3rd Semester) courses.

Candidates who have a bachelor's degree are welcome to apply, whether in initial training or continuing education.

The VAE scheme (Validation of Skills and Experience) allows Cnam to grant full degrees based on work experience.

The programme is certified by the French Video Games Association (Syndicat National du Jeu Vidéo) and received an A+ qualification level when appraised by the French Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (HCERES, formerly AERES).

Dual-Degree Programme Cnam-Enjmin x Cologne Game Lab

The Cologne Game Lab (CGL), part of TH Köln (University of Arts, Science and Technology of Cologne), is a renowned school in the video game development sector in Germany.

A dual-degree programme has been offered to all students on the JMIN Master's degree since the 2019-2020 academic year. This programme is open to students who are interested in research and teaching.

  • 3rd semester at Cologne Game Lab (Germany): MA in Digital Games
  • 4th semester on internship in France or abroad

Dual-Degree Programme Project Cnam-Enjmin x NAD-UQAC School

The NAD School is the School of Digital Arts, Animation and Design (École des arts numériques, de l’animation et du design) (Montreal, Canada) part of UQAC, the University of Quebec in Chicoutimi.

From September 2026, a dual-degree programme will be offered to students on the Game Design and Game Art tracks on the JMIN Master's degree (Cnam-Enjmin), replacing the Passerelle Bridge programme that started in 2024. This programme is for students who wish to develop their skills and knowledge in Narrative Design.

Partner of the French Polytechnical School

French Polytechnical School

Since 2020, Cnam-Enjmin has been a receiving institution of students from the French Polytechnical School (École polytechnique). Every year, we welcome polytechnical students into the second-year course who have chosen Cnam-Enjmin as their application school for their 4th year.

2025/26 Fees

For European students: Nationals from France, a European Union member country, the European Economic Area, Switzerland, Monaco, Andorra: €254 per year. This includes the tuition fees at master's level in public institutions. Students must also pay the CVEC fee* (Student and Campus Life Contribution) of €105.

It is possible to obtain a Crous scholarship on the basis of social criteria and a mobility financial aid for graduates who completed a bachelor’s degree in a French region different to the one they wish to complete their master's degree.

For non-EU students: You will be required to pay different tuition fees if you are enrolling for the first time for a master's degree and provided that you are not permanently settled in France.

If this is the case, the French State will thus cover two thirds of the cost of your course. You will therefore have to pay €3,941 per year. Students must also pay the CVEC fee* (Student and Campus Life Contribution) of €105.

Please note that you can apply to a Crous scholarship, an Erasmus+ mobility scholarship for foreign students, a French Ministry of Higher education and Research scholarship or one of the many French Europe and Foreign Affairs Ministry scholarships for foreign students.

French regions and towns allocate scholarships to foreign students enrolled on programmes in their region.

*The CVEC fee applies to all students enrolling on a degree programme in a public or private higher education institution in France.
